More new from Stubb

Hi guys, well you have both asked what else is going on here so I thought I'd write some more on here. Glad you like it! Anyway, here we go...

I'll start by talking about the band because the last 2 gigs we had (Joiners on Tuesday and Swindon on Thursday) both went really really well. Good crowds for both, and they all seemed to love us. Really great feeling. Tuesday was supporting a band from America called The Little Ones who were really nice guys, and the whole night in general was just great fun. Thursday's gig was in this little pub with a venue out the back. It was really impressive. It was just us and another band, with us supporting them. They let me use their drum kit which was nice, and I borrowed one of their crash cymbols, so I had two for the first time ever! Haha! It was great. I will be buying one for myself asap. But we played really well again and the journey home was fun. Me, Paul, Kyle, and Neil had a long, stupid chat about the band and all sorts. Very fun. Some of the best times we've had have been coming home from gigs far away. Tonight we're playing at The Drift Bar in Southsea and the gig is being broadcast live on the local Express FM. I don't think it'll be great but it should be fun hopefully. Another funny story is that me and Pauly B were in the Cuckoo the other day and Kev the landlord was asking us to play on July 7th. We said we'd be up for it but we had to check with everyone else. Anyway, apparently the day afterwards we found out that he had got posters made up, and regardless of whether or not everyone wants to do it Kyle is unable to anyway! Now me and Paul have to go in to the pub and tell Kev we can't do it. I hate doing stuff like that.

As for other stuff in Stubb, it's been pissing it down all weekend. I played a covers band gig at the sailing club last night and they insisted on keeping the doors open. I had shorts on cos of my knees being all cut up from football (not nice wounds!) and it was freezing! I got paid £50 for that night though, so not all bad! That'll pay for my KFC dinner tonight in Southsea :-) . Not all of it obviously, I'm not that greedy.

Hmmm... what else? Well Henry is leaving Arsenal. I can honestly say it's a good time for him to leave. You (Lorraine) had him during his best years but 29 is a good age to sell him at. Although I still think £16 million is a bit cheap.

Just remembered something else I was going to mention. I've decided to buy some professional earplugs so that I don't get tinnitus playing the drums! They're these special ones that reduce the overall sound so that none of the sound is distorted, so I'll still be able to hear everything that's going on, just quieter. How much for these magical beans? Only £160!!! Grumble. Expensive, but totally worth it if I want to be able to hear when I'm older. I'm kind of excited about getting them, but then again I like buying stuff so no surprise there :)

Right I'd better go and sort myself out for this gig. Take care guy and girl; have lots of fun on your travels and don't forget us at home. I know I'm always thinking of you guys out there!

Laters,
Simps, Matt, etc x
